MarketUK.uk employs digital tools and artificial intelligence (AI) to support our editorial operations. This policy explains how we use automation, what safeguards are in place, and what is strictly prohibited. Our commitment to editorial integrity, accuracy and transparency governs every use of technology in our newsroom.
How Digital Tools Support Our Work
We may use automated or AI-assisted tools for the following editorial and production tasks:
- Research – gathering public data, identifying trends and summarising background material.
- Editing – grammar, spelling, style consistency and readability checks.
- Formatting – structuring articles, tables and metadata for consistent presentation.
- Metadata – generating tags, categories, excerpts and SEO descriptions.
- Headline options – suggesting alternative headlines for human review.
- Summaries – creating brief article summaries or bullet points for newsletters.
- Transcription – converting audio interviews or events into text for editing.
- Comparison tables – structuring product or service comparisons from verified data.
- Data structuring – organising datasets, charts and infographics.
- Content review – flagging potential inconsistencies, fact-checking leads or missing attributions.
In every case, output from automated tools is treated as a draft or suggestion. No tool makes editorial decisions or publishes content.
The Human Guarantee
All editorial content published on MarketUK.uk is reviewed by a qualified human editor before publication. This includes news articles, features, explainers, consumer guides, opinion pieces, reviews and sponsored content. No automated system can approve or release content to our audience without human oversight. Our editors are responsible for accuracy, context, fairness and compliance with our Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking Policy.
Strict Prohibitions
The following uses of AI are strictly forbidden across all of our content:
- Fabricating or inventing quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience or expert profiles.
- Creating false staff members, credentials, institutional affiliations or first-hand reporting experience.
- Generating mass-produced, low-value content designed to manipulate search rankings or deceive readers.
- Publishing AI-generated claims without independent verification against primary or authoritative sources.
Any AI-generated images, audio or video material must be clearly labelled as such where relevant, in line with our Sponsored Content Policy and Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure. Fictional or misleading outputs are considered a serious breach of editorial standards and may result in removal of content and review of our tooling.
Verification of AI-Assisted Content
Content that covers financial, business, investment, market or economic topics – including data-led features, market explainers and consumer finance guides – must be checked against appropriate sources before publication. Our Fact-Checking Policy sets out the verification procedures for such material. Journalists and editors remain solely responsible for the final accuracy of every claim, figure and interpretation. AI assistance does not reduce the standard of due diligence required.
Transparency and Disclosure
Where digital tools substantially contribute to the preparation or presentation of a piece, we may include a disclosure such as:
“This article was prepared with the support of digital editing tools and reviewed by a human editor before publication.”
We believe readers deserve to know how content is produced. Our editorial team, listed on Our Team page, is available to answer any questions about our workflows. For further information or to report concerns, please contact us at our contact page or via contact@marketuk.uk. This policy is part of our broader commitment to transparent, responsible journalism. It will be reviewed and updated as technology evolves. Last revised: April 2025.
